Pink Lily in Fire
Loosing my son left me looking for a meaning to life. It sent me on a path to rediscover myself by reliving my past through flood of memories. As all memories unfolded slowly, I found myself amazed at my own ability to remain a kind and caring woman despite all atrocities that I was subjected to by life. Hence the Pink Lily ‘n Fire.
It represents every woman who stands tall in fire and faces adverse circumstances without losing her delicate charm.
The Street Musician
No need of big stages or expensive venues! You can be happy on the street if love what you do.
When I started getting out to overcome grief and reconnect with the outside world, one day while strolling on the Spring garden Road in Halifax, I saw a girl playing guitar, smiling, with her eyes closed. I was just fascinated by her pretty smile and soulful music! She was my superstar that day as she made me smile after a long time!
Here she is on my canvas, The Street Musician.
Yellow Tulips
I love to paint flowers and this simple painting contributed to my growth as an artist. Every stroke is a teacher if you are ready to learn!
Sunrise at the River
In my journey to reconnect with myself, I created this painting, Sunrise at the River. Who did not draw this scenery in their childhood! It was calming through back to my childhood when my world was full of hopes and dreams.
Sunset
Sunsets are beautiful in Nova Scotia and often very colourfull! I painted this for a friend.
Adrift
Quite often I feel like a boat adrift in a quite sea, either before or after the storm!
The Splash
While quietly watching a Jew family enjoying the waves at Peggy’s cove, I noticed that while the man enjoyed watching the big splash, woman turned away quickly to avoid getting wet. They both reacted differently and were right in their own way!
When challenges come suddenly like a splash, some face them boldly and others walk away to keep safe. They are all right in their own perception.
My Sardar
Portrait of my husband who sacrificed everything to support me and made sure I was never alone in my struggles.
It is a tribute to every man who was brought up in a world where women are traditionally considered subordinate to men but grew up to understand and accept their wives as equal, even assuming a more supportive role in the family while the wives reached for their dreams. To all men with a soft heart underneath their tough exterior
The MacDonald Bridge
This is my most recent painting that I created for a friend as a thank you for donating to my charity, Angad Hundal Society. I heard he wanted to have a picture of famous MacDonald Bridge in Halifax for his new office and I panted it for him.
The MacDonald Bridge is a famous Halifax landmark.
Sea Fans
This is one of my more recent paintings. Watching the sea quietly and realizing the enormous power of nature is humbling. This is from one of those moments.
Milakuhle- Girl with a heart of gold
In the journey to reconnect with my original self, I created Milakuhle, a south African young girl with a heart of gold. She is sad but determined. She observes life quietly believing that one day she will make it what she wants it to be, on her own!
The Multitasker
Women are multitaskers, we are all aware of feeling being pulled in many directions at one time. One day, when I was feeling tired, trying to balance my multifaceted life, multitasker came into life!
